Top 20 Kraft Paper Machine Manufacturers for Mill Projects

Kraft paper machine manufacturers offer very different routes to a finished parent roll. Zejiang supplies configured packaging-paper machinery; Valmet and Voith cover integrated containerboard projects; ANDRITZ and Bellmer have named specialty-kraft references. This guide compares 20 manufacturers by paper grade, manufacturing scope and project fit so you can build a useful shortlist.

Quick answer

Kraft paper machine manufacturers should be compared on the grade and supply scope your mill needs. A recycled-liner line, an MG kraft machine and a bag converter are different purchases. Start with the 20-company comparison, then match the supplier to your furnish and finished roll.

Disclosure: This guide is published by Zejiang. We list ourselves first because this is our website, not because we claim to be the market leader. The other 19 manufacturers are grouped by what they’re best for, in no particular order within each group.

Quick Picks

  • Configured recycled-packaging projects: Zejiang, with paper-machine parts and in-house machining support.
  • Integrated containerboard and conversions: Valmet, whose stated scope extends from furnish preparation to roll wrapping.
  • Large kraftliner installations: Voith, including its Obbola reference with stock preparation and auxiliaries.
  • Machine-glazed kraft: ANDRITZ, with its Pöls PM3 reference and steel Yankee drying.
  • Sack-kraft projects: Bellmer, which announced a new machine order for Mondi Štětí.
  • Smaller catalogued formats: Shunfu, whose kraft/corrugated range includes a 30 tonnes/day machine.

How We Selected These Manufacturers

Zejiang guide separates sheet forming, pressing, drying and rolling from chemical pulping and bag converting.

The shortlist comprises manufacturers with published offerings for paper-making machinery, either as standalone equipment or as part of complete lines or integrated projects. As of October 2026, information pertaining to products and projects was gleaned from the official company and project websites. Trading companies, distributors, sourcing platforms, directories, media websites and used-equipment dealers were excluded from the shortlist. Product scope matters more here than the size of a supplier’s online catalogue.

Each company number correlates a row to its profile. “Best for” indicates our editorial judgment of the company’s documented capability to meet the needs of the project type; it is not a performance ranking. Founded years describe company history, including stated predecessor roots where relevant, rather than the start of complete kraft-machine production. A product catalog indicates what a company offers. An installation reference indicates what a company supplied on the project.

A kraft paper manufacturer selling rolls is included in a different shortlist compared to a paper machine builder. Likewise, a supplier of forest products, a paper corporation or a paper supplier may be a buyer of this equipment. Machinery results may include searches for paper producers, so use grade and delivery limitations to narrow inquiries to the appropriate business.

How is kraft paper made?

Making kraft paper consists of forming a wet sheet of fibers, pressing and drying, and rolling. Virgin pulp or an agreed recycled-fiber furnish is put into the paper-making process after it’s prepared. Production of chemical kraft pulp from wood requires separate upstream equipment. A paper bag making machine is used to convert an already manufactured roll into bags.

Color alone doesn’t define a machine. Unbleached kraftliner, recycled testliner, fluting paper, and sack kraft all have different strengths and formations. Machine-glazed paper requires a particular surface finish, while an extensible sack grade requires the right process flow. A line advertised for corrugated cardboard raw material should therefore be compared with another line for that grade, rather than assumed to cover every industrial kraft application.

Kraft Paper Machine Manufacturers Compared

Zejiang's comparison pairs grade with scope; published project and catalogue capacities are not output guarantees.

The 20-Manufacturer Kraft Mill Match Map connects a manufacturer with a plausible starting point for your project. The paper grade column and machine scope column can be used in combination: a broad product line doesn’t mean all the configurations of machines can make all the listed grades. Brief advantages and limitations are expanded in the company profiles below.

Scroll the table horizontally on a phone. Supplier capacities in this guide retain the published context of a project or a catalogue; they aren’t production guarantees that can be directly compared.

Zejiang: Configured Packaging Paper Projects

Zejiang separates working speed, finished trim width and saleable output when configuring packaging-paper machinery.

1. Zejiang: Best for Configured kraft and recycled-packaging paper projects with in-house replacement-part support

Headquarters: Qinyang, Henan, China · Founded: 2014 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://zjpapermachine.com/

Main products: Kraft, testliner and fluting paper machines; stock preparation and spare parts

Manufacturing capabilities: In-house machining, boring and dynamic balancing; configuration and commissioning support

Certifications / quality claims: Website states ISO 9001 certification; claim attributed to the published product page

Henan Zejiang Paper Machinery Co., Ltd. describes turning, milling, boring and dynamic balancing within its manufacturing operation, which gives the replacement-part discussion a practical starting point. Our kraft offering covers configured packaging-paper production, with working speed, finished trim width and saleable output treated as separate requirements rather than interchangeable catalogue figures. For a mill planning recycled packaging grades, that combination connects the production-line discussion with the rolls, headboxes and other parts needed to maintain it. The limitation is that output and furnish flexibility belong to the engineered configuration: broad industry-class ranges aren’t a fixed guarantee for a Zejiang model.

Integrated Containerboard and Specialty Kraft Machine Builders

Zejiang guide: integrated projects coordinate stock preparation, machine sections and mill interfaces.

Integration of large, new installations and conversions often requires one engineering team to co-ordinate different paper-machine sections and stock preparation as well as mill interfaces. The following manufacturers provide integrated or specialty-paper offerings.

2. Valmet: Best for Integrated new containerboard lines and grade conversions

Headquarters: Espoo, Finland · Founded: 2013 (current company; older industrial roots) · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.valmet.com/

Main products: Containerboard lines, stock preparation, automation, rebuilds and conversions

Manufacturing capabilities: Integrated containerboard scope from furnish preparation to roll wrapping

Certifications / quality claims: ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 for the sites and scopes listed in its certificate

Valmet's containerboard offering extends from furnish preparation to roll wrapping, so its project discussion can cover the systems on either side of the paper machine. Cascades Bear Island is a published example of converting a newsprint machine to recycled-containerboard production, a useful distinction for an owner considering an existing asset rather than a new mill. Those two capabilities support its fit for integrated lines and grade conversions, while the site's ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certificate identifies the covered locations and activities. The broad scope also means procurement must make decisions about stock preparation and finishing; a comparison limited to the machine frame would leave substantial interfaces unresolved.

3. Voith: Best for Large kraftliner projects with integrated stock preparation and auxiliaries

Headquarters: Heidenheim, Germany · Founded: 1867 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.voith.com/

Main products: XcelLine paper machines, BlueLine stock preparation, automation and auxiliary systems

Manufacturing capabilities: Obbola kraftliner reference lists 1400 m/min design speed and 10200 mm wire width

Notable work: Named large-line installation

Voith reports that SCA's Obbola PM2 started up in November 2022 with an XcelLine machine, BlueLine recovered-paper stock preparation, auxiliaries, commissioning and training in the project scope. The reference lists 1,400 m/min design speed and 10,200 mm wire width, making it relevant to a large kraftliner inquiry rather than a small wrapping-paper line. Voith's account also describes how the availability of stock preparation affected the early production ramp, which connects the equipment specification to a real mill interface. A large machine needs the planned fiber supply before it can reach its intended output, so the complete feed system belongs in the same engineering discussion.

4. ANDRITZ: Best for Machine-glazed kraft and engineered packaging-paper conversions

Headquarters: Graz, Austria · Founded: 1852 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.andritz.com/

Main products: PrimeLine paper and board machines; MG kraft, conversions and automation

Manufacturing capabilities: Pöls PM3 MG reference: 100000 tonnes/year, 1400 m/min design speed and 5.4m working width

Certifications / quality claims: Site-specific management-system certification including ISO 9001, according to its quality portal

ANDRITZ's Pöls PM3 reference combines 100,000 tonnes/year capacity, 1,400 m/min design speed and 5.4 m working width with a 24-foot steel Yankee for machine-glazed paper. The machine's flexible-packaging and release-paper applications make it a more relevant reference for a controlled surface finish than a generic recycled-liner listing. Laakirchen PM10 provides a different example: conversion from graphic paper to packaging paper using recycled fibers. A buyer should keep those routes separate, because MG surface requirements and Yankee drying create a different equipment choice from conventional containerboard production.

5. Bellmer: Best for Sack-kraft projects and tailored complete paper-machine lines

Headquarters: Niefern, Germany · Founded: 1842 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.bellmer.com/

Main products: TurboLine complete paper and board machines; packaging and specialty grades

Manufacturing capabilities: Complete-machine design, manufacture, installation and mill expansion

Certifications / quality claims: ISO 9001:2015 by TÜV SÜD, according to Bellmer governance page

Bellmer's TurboLine offering brings complete-machine components into one supply package, with design, manufacture and installation included in its stated capabilities. Its April 2023 announcement of a new sack-kraft machine order for Mondi Štětí gives buyers a named kraft application to place alongside that general offer. Bellmer also publishes an ISO 9001:2015 certification statement naming TÜV SÜD on its governance page. Sack-kraft and board projects still need different forming, drying and finishing selections, so the value of the complete-line approach depends on matching the chosen sections to the paper you plan to sell.

6. Allimand: Best for Specialty packaging grades and paper/board process development

Headquarters: Rives, France · Founded: 1850 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.allimand.com/

Main products: Paper and board machines for packaging, specialty and other grades

Manufacturing capabilities: Complete lines with forming, pressing, drying, sizing, calendering and winding

Notable work: NAOS shoe press and broad process scope

Allimand lists fluting and liner among its paper-and-board applications, alongside a wider specialty-paper portfolio. Its process offering covers forming, pressing, drying, sizing, calendering and winding, with NAOS shoe-press technology among the named machine elements. That combination makes the company relevant when the buying question includes both the base sheet and the finishing route, rather than only the nominal daily output. The wide portfolio requires a grade-specific wet end and finishing arrangement; a machine intended for fine paper or another specialty grade doesn’t become a kraft line through a generic setting change.

7. Overmade: Best for Custom paper/board lines and major machine rebuilds

Headquarters: Settimo di Pescantina, Verona, Italy · Founded: 2015 (Overmade; predecessor Over Meccanica 1961) · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.overmade.it/

Main products: Paper and board machinery, headboxes, complete machines and rebuilds

Manufacturing capabilities: Published portfolio spans 100–1300 tonnes/day across paper and board grades

Notable work: Published new-machine and rebuild history

Overmade distinguishes its current company, established in 2015, from the Over Meccanica industrial roots dating to 1961. Its paper-and-board page reports more than 200 new machines and 120 major rebuilds across that history, with a published portfolio spanning 100–1,300 tonnes/day and roll widths up to 10,000 mm. The mix of new machines and rebuild work is useful for a mill deciding how much existing equipment to retain in a grade-change project. Those portfolio figures cover different paper and board applications, however, and can’t be combined into one kraft-machine performance guarantee.

Configured Kraft and Recycled Paper Machine Manufacturers

Zejiang guide separates project scale and supply capability; headquarters alone does not establish service coverage.

Configured projects can range from a narrow-web machine to a large-scale recycled containerboard mill. Manufacturers like the companies below publish different combinations of in-house machining and stock preparation as well as complete-machine construction and installation. Their headquarters show where the company is based; they don’t establish where all their service technicians and manufacturing subcontractors are located.

8. Scan Machineries: Best for Configured kraftliner and testliner lines with headbox-to-winder scope

Headquarters: Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India · Founded: 1989 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.scanmachineries.com/

Main products: Complete kraft, packaging-board, writing, tissue and specialty paper machines

Manufacturing capabilities: In-house headbox-to-winder manufacture and turnkey/rebuild projects

Notable work: In-house line manufacture

Scan Machineries states that it manufactures the paper-machine line in-house from headbox to winder, and its grade list includes brown kraftliner, white-top kraftliner and testliner. The homepage lists projects at 50 TPD through 500 TPD+, giving buyers a stated production scale for a configured packaging-paper inquiry. Tissue paper making and writing-paper equipment also appear in its wider portfolio, but the liner grade and layer plan remain the relevant basis for this shortlist. Turnkey work and rebuilds have different interfaces, so the retained equipment and intended grade determine how much of the line a Scan proposal needs to cover.

9. JMC Papertech: Best for Paper-machine projects needing pulp-mill engineering and heavy fabrication

Headquarters: Sanand, Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India · Founded: 2002 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.jmcmachines.com/

Main products: Kraft paper machines, pulp mills, stock preparation and mill modernization

Manufacturing capabilities: Design, manufacture, erection and commissioning including multi-wire paper plants

Certifications / quality claims: ISO 9001:2015, according to the company profile

JMC Papertech's company profile describes double-, triple- and multi-wire paper plants in a 100–500 TPD range, together with design, manufacture, erection and commissioning. In-house engineering includes plant layouts, flow sheets and control documentation, which is relevant when an owner needs the physical machinery and its process interfaces developed together. Its Indian manufacturing base is in Sanand near Ahmedabad, according to the group's US-facing website. JMC's paper-machine and pulp-mill offerings remain separate scope decisions, so an upstream pulping plant shouldn’t be assumed to be included in a paper-machine quotation.

10. Parason: Best for Kraft projects combining stock-preparation expertise and paper-machine upgrades

Headquarters: Chh. Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, India · Founded: 1976 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.parason.com/

Main products: Complete kraft and board machines, stock preparation and section upgrades

Manufacturing capabilities: Full paper-machine lines from headbox to pope reel

Certifications / quality claims: ISO 9001:2015, according to its website

Parason's current paper-machine page presents full lines from headbox to pope reel and maps single, double, triple and multi-wire arrangements to different grades. That machine offer sits alongside its stock-preparation business, making it relevant to a recycled-paper project that needs both furnish treatment and sheet-forming equipment. The configuration choice is more useful to a buyer than treating every advertised kraft line as the same machine: the number of layers changes how the sheet is built and which furnish goes into it. Single-wire and multi-wire arrangements therefore need a settled product construction and furnish plan before their proposals can be compared.

11. Leizhan: Best for Kraft-line sourcing with a substantial recycled-fiber stock-preparation package

Headquarters: Xinmi, Henan, China · Founded: 1980 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.leizhanpapermachine.com/

Main products: Kraft paper machines and pulping/stock-preparation equipment

Manufacturing capabilities: Official catalog lists 300TPD Fourdrinier kraft-paper machinery

Certifications / quality claims: Historical ISO 9001:2008 claim on its company page

Leizhan's published kraft offering includes a 300 TPD Fourdrinier machine, while its other official domain presents a 5,100 mm kraft-machine solution. The same company's substantial pulping-equipment catalogue makes stock preparation a central part of its fit for recovered-fiber projects. Both official domains belong to one manufacturer, rather than separate suppliers. Some of its project announcements describe pulping-equipment deliveries, so buyers need to define those deliveries and complete-paper-machine supply as separate equipment scopes.

12. Dingchen: Best for Configured kraft/testliner machinery with in-house machining

Headquarters: Zhengzhou, Henan, China · Founded: Not publicly disclosed · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.chinapapermachinery.com/

Main products: Testliner, kraft, carton-box paper, cultural and tissue machines

Manufacturing capabilities: Machine manufacture, installation, commissioning and worker training

Notable work: Five-axis machining and dynamic balancing

Dingchen's factory profile lists a CNC five-axis gantry machining center and dynamic balancing equipment, together with more than 150 employees and a 45,000-square-metre operation. Its product range includes testliner, kraft and carton-box paper machinery, while installation, commissioning and worker training appear in the stated service scope. Those manufacturing and start-up capabilities make it a candidate for a configured packaging-paper project with machining support behind the supplied equipment. The general factory description doesn’t define the performance of a particular grade, so its engineering proposal must narrow that broad offer to the required sheet and output.

13. Guangmao: Best for Recycled-packaging projects comparing catalogued machine sizes

Headquarters: Zhengzhou, Henan, China · Founded: 1982 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.gmpapermachine.com/

Main products: Kraft, fluting, liner and other paper-production machinery

Manufacturing capabilities: The 4400mm kraft-machine page advertises 300 tonnes per 24 hours

Certifications / quality claims: Website claims CE, SGS and ISO approvals without specifying a management-system edition

Guangmao's 4,400 mm kraft-machine page advertises 300 tonnes per 24 hours and lists kraft, corrugated, flute and liner paper among the intended products. The same offer includes installation, test running and operator training, which brings start-up services into the initial comparison instead of leaving them as an afterthought. Its website mentions CE, SGS and ISO approvals without identifying a management-system edition in that product description. The daily output belongs to the stated product and furnish basis, so the catalogue figure should stay attached to that configuration rather than being applied to every grade in the company's range.

14. Qinyang PingAn: Best for Packaging paper projects needing factory design through commissioning

Headquarters: Qinyang, Henan, China · Founded: 1985 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.paper-makingmachine.com/

Main products: Kraft, fluting, duplex board, cultural and tissue paper machines

Manufacturing capabilities: Plant design, equipment processing, installation, debugging and worker training

Certifications / quality claims: Historical ISO 9001:2000 certification claim on its company page

Qinyang PingAn describes eight manufacturing workshops and a service scope covering plant design, equipment processing, installation, debugging and worker training. Related products include duplex board, cultural-paper and tissue-machine equipment alongside its kraft and fluting offerings, so a packaging-paper inquiry sits within a broader manufacturing range. Its company page carries an historical ISO 9001:2000 statement, which is reported here as part of that published profile. Maximum width or speed figures from the full portfolio are not a simultaneous guarantee for one kraft model; the selected paper grade must determine the machine specification.

15. Huaxia: Best for Smaller configured packaging-paper and recycled-fiber projects

Headquarters: Qinyang, Henan, China · Founded: 1982 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://paper-equipment.com/

Main products: Kraft, corrugated and paperboard packaging/wrapping machines

Manufacturing capabilities: Packaging machine portfolio: 1092–3300mm and 10–150tonnes/day as published

Notable work: Published smaller-width packaging range

Huaxia publishes a packaging-paper web-width range of 1,092–3,300 mm and a 10–150 tonnes/day portfolio. Its complete process chart begins with waste-paper pulping and continues through the paper-machine drying stages, which helps a buyer see the relationship between the recovered furnish and the base-paper line. These published ranges make it relevant to a smaller configured project where a very wide containerboard installation would be a different investment class. The packaging portfolio is narrower than those large-mill offers, so its strongest fit is within the scale described in its own machinery range.

16. Hengrun: Best for Complete configured packaging-paper plants with a broad component range

Headquarters: Qinyang, Henan, China · Founded: 1980 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.cnpapermachinery.com/

Main products: Kraft, testliner, fluting and other paper/board machines; stock preparation

Manufacturing capabilities: Kraft page lists widths up to 5200mm, speeds up to 600m/min and capacity up to 500tonnes/day

Notable work: Workshops and multiple forming options

Hengrun's company description lists four manufacturing workshops and more than 30 machining units, while its paper-machine offering covers multi-wire, Fourdrinier and cylinder-mould arrangements. The kraft product page separately lists widths up to 5,200 mm, speeds up to 600 m/min and capacity up to 500 tonnes/day. A cylinder-mould paper machine and a multi-wire line can represent different sheet constructions, so the forming choice gives the buyer a useful basis for discussing the intended packaging grade. Those separate catalogue maxima don’t describe one machine running every grade at all three limits simultaneously.

17. Shandong Xinhe: Best for Packaging-paper projects supported by a named overseas installation

Headquarters: Liaocheng, Shandong, China · Founded: 1999 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.sdxinhe.com/

Main products: Packaging paper machines, paper-machine manufacture and installation

Manufacturing capabilities: Bangladesh packaging-paper reference published as 4800mm, 500m/min and 300000tonnes/year

Notable work: Named Bangladesh project

Shandong Xinhe publishes a Bangladesh packaging-paper project described with 4,800 mm width and 500 m/min speed, giving the shortlist a named overseas installation rather than only a general export claim. Manufacturing, installation and commissioning also appear in its company profile, connecting equipment construction with the work required to start the line. That combination suits an inquiry where the owner wants to discuss a comparable packaging-paper project and the supplier's role at the site. The Bangladesh parameters belong to that project and don’t establish the same output or paper properties for every kraft or specialty-paper configuration.

18. CCL Paper Machine: Best for Packaging paper-machine projects needing integrated design and section supply

Headquarters: Leshan, Sichuan, China · Founded: 1989 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://en.ccl-papermachine.com/

Main products: Industrial packaging, cultural and specialty paper machines

Manufacturing capabilities: PM15 project: overall design and integration plus two-layer forming, top-wire and dryer sections

Notable work: Published PM15 forming/dryer supply

CCL's history records a 5860-900 packaging-machine milestone in 2008, while its PM15 reference identifies overall design and integration together with two-layer forming, top-wire and dryer-section supply. Naming the supplied sections is useful when an owner is comparing a complete project package with several coordinated equipment contracts. CCL's packaging-paper work therefore offers a starting point for discussing both machine engineering and the interfaces between sections. Overall integration doesn’t mean every component was manufactured by CCL, so the PM15 scope should be read as the specific combination the company describes.

19. Rajshree India: Best for Narrow-width kraft machine inquiries with an Indian manufacturer

Headquarters: Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India · Founded: 2003 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.rajshreeindia.com/

Main products: Kraft, multilayer kraft and other paper-making machines

Manufacturing capabilities: Kraft product listing: 500–1000mm output width and 200m/min speed

Notable work: Narrow-width product parameters

Rajshree India's dedicated kraft product listing specifies 500–1,000 mm output width and 200 m/min speed, while a separate product page covers multilayer kraft machinery. These are paper-making offerings rather than finished-roll bag converting, which keeps the company relevant to the mill-equipment shortlist. The narrow-width listing gives a buyer a concrete starting specification for an inquiry instead of an unspecified promise of packaging solutions. Rajshree's broader homepage capacity range describes another level of offer, so the narrow product and a larger line need different machine-specific quotations.

20. Shunfu: Best for Small kraft and corrugated-paper projects using catalogued machine formats

Headquarters: Qinyang, Henan, China · Founded: 1988 · Type: Paper machinery manufacturer

Official website: https://www.shunfumachine.com/

Main products: Kraft/corrugated paper machines, pulping equipment and finishing machinery

Manufacturing capabilities: 3200-type product lists 3200mm width and 30tonnes/day from waste paper

Certifications / quality claims: Historical ISO9001:2008 claim on its About page

Shunfu's 3200-type product lists 3,200 mm width and 30 tonnes/day with waste-paper input and kraft/corrugated output. Its kraft catalogue also includes 1092–3200 types and approximately 4.5–30 tonnes/day, making the smaller formats visible before a buyer requests a configuration. The About page traces the Qinyang business to May 1988 and carries an historical ISO 9001:2008 claim. That published small-machine range is a different project class from high-speed, very wide containerboard mills, so the useful comparison is with suppliers offering a similar production scale.

How to Choose a Kraft Paper Machine Manufacturer

Zejiang guide compares accepted output at the same grade, basis weight and furnish using working speed and trim width.

Choose a manufacturer whose demonstrated paper grade and delivery scope match the mill you intend to operate. A good comparison begins with the same furnish, saleable output and finished roll requirements for each bidder. Finished paper width and headline speed only become meaningful after these conditions are satisfied.

Start with the paper you will sell

Describe the final packaging material in operational terms. Making paper for industrial use begins with the converting process and the requirements of the customer. For recycled kraft and testliner, state the waste paper source and the strength requirements. For sack paper, state the requirements of the bag and its performance requirements. Shopping bags, corrugated packaging, foodservice papers and coated paper can require different surface and finishing requirements. Choose the right kraft paper specification first, then work backward to the machine. Paper and paperboard in different industrial applications can require different stiffness, strength and surface requirements, though their color may look the same.

High strength and high-quality kraft paper require measurable definitions. Specify the grammage range (gsm) and state the relevant tensile, burst or compression requirements. If your product will have a coating or laminate, indicate whether that operation will occur on the proposed line or on separate converting equipment. The presence of a broader paper market opportunity doesn’t remove these differences.

Furnish is equally specific. Waste paper recycling introduces a stock-preparation requirement that differs from feeding prepared virgin pulp. A proposal involving bagasse or another nonwood fiber needs its own pulp characteristics and preparation plan. The full guide to pulp preparation equipment explains the upstream equipment choices; don’t assume that any mixed-furnish machine accepts all raw materials without changes.

How much does a paper manufacturing machine cost?

No single price is useful for a paper manufacturing machine until the grade, width, output and supply boundary are defined. The equipment price may not include the building, foundations, the electrical distribution system, the steam and water systems, or the installation. A pulp and paper mill can include major upstream systems, and a paper machine offer typically doesn’t.

Line by line comparison is key. An equipment exporter may quote delivery to a port, while another may include erection and commissioning at the paper plant. Training, start up consumables, controls integration and spare parts may all be in different packages. Hence, two similar kraft paper manufacturing quotations may appear different and may not indicate that one is a better quote.

Equipment labels such as “automatic kraft paper” equipment, “easy operation” or “high efficiency” are starting points for further questions. Find out what’s automated, what operators remain on each shift, and how energy consumption is measured for the intended grade. A leading manufacturer claim doesn’t replace a clear bill of supply or a paper acceptance test.

How should a mill compare working speed, finished width and tonnes per day?

Agree on a paper grade, and compare output at that paper grade, basis weight and furnish, using sustained working speed and finished trim width. Design speed describes a machine’s engineered speed limit; wire width is wider than the saleable sheet. Tonnes per day, or TPD, should describe the accepted paper produced under the stated operating conditions.

Voith’s Obbola reference, for example, lists 1,400 m/min design speed and 10,200 mm wire width. ANDRITZ’s Pöls PM3 reference also lists 1,400 m/min design speed, but with 5.4 m working width and a different paper application. Identical speed numbers don’t make those machines interchangeable. Nor should a production target expressed as “100 tons” be compared until the time period and metric or short-ton unit are clear.

Separate gross production from saleable rolls. Grade changes, sheet breaks, trimming and maintenance affect how much accepted paper leaves the line. Use the paper mill capacity calculation guide to understand the relationship between width, speed and grammage before discussing a guaranteed daily target. High capacity and high output are only useful promises when the same operating basis is attached.

Examine the sections that set the practical limit

A faster wet end cannot offset an undersized dryer section or unstable stock preparation. Ask how the proposed headbox, forming section, press arrangement and drying system work together at the target grade. For a rebuild, drives, foundations and controls along with remaining rolls create additional interfaces. The supplier’s previous project is most useful when its furnish, process, equipment and machine changes resemble your own.

Maintenance scope belongs in the comparison too. A spare-part list should distinguish wear items from long-lead components, and the commissioning plan should identify who trains operators and resolves process issues. Zejiang’s paper drying process explanation provides a useful starting point for the dryer discussion. Purchasing the largest machine on paper doesn’t resolve a steam or water-system constraint.

Do

  • Compare the same furnish and saleable grade.
  • Separate full-line references from section upgrades.
  • Define machine, utility and commissioning interfaces.
Don’t

  • Combine unrelated catalogue maximum figures.
  • Read company age as years of kraft-machine experience.
  • Treat a certification logo as a paper performance guarantee.

Verify quality claims once the shortlist is focused

At this stage, request current certificates with their legal entity, site, scope and expiry details, plus relevant customer references and a written machine specification. Historical ISO 9001:2000 or ISO 9001:2008 statements describe what the website reports; they do not establish current certification. CE-related documentation, third-party inspection and a quality-management certificate answer different questions and should be identified separately.

Paper tests also differ from company certification. ISO 536:2019 covers grammage determination, while ISO 1924-2:2008 covers tensile properties using a constant rate of elongation method. State the test method and agreed acceptance value together. Neither standard certifies a machine manufacturer or guarantees that a specific line will meet your finished-paper specification.

Precision is also required for the service geography. Who will attend start-up? Where are replacement parts located? What types of remote assistance are available? The locations of the seller, factory and service facility may be different. A firm that specializes in kraft machinery can still need local partners for electrical installation, utilities and civil work.

FAQs

Who are the top kraft paper making machine manufacturers in India?

India-based names in this shortlist

Scan Machineries, JMC Papertech, Parason and Rajshree India are India-based manufacturers included here. Their offerings differ: Scan publishes headbox-to-winder scope, JMC combines paper-machine and pulp-mill engineering, Parason offers stock preparation and paper-machine configurations, and Rajshree lists narrow-width kraft equipment. Compare the particular grade and package rather than treating these companies as a ranked group.

What is the minimum order quantity for a kraft paper making machine?

How machinery orders differ from paper-roll orders

A kraft paper making machine is normally discussed as an engineered equipment project, so the relevant purchasing unit is the agreed machine or line package. There’s no universal minimum order quantity across these manufacturers. A supplier may quote a complete line, a rebuild or individual sections; the quotation defines the actual scope and commercial conditions.

What is the difference between craft paper and kraft paper?

The distinction that changes your supplier search

Kraft paper is a paper grade associated with strength and packaging applications, while craft paper is a broad retail description for paper used in creative projects. The terms can overlap in a shop listing, but they don’t identify the same industrial purchase. For machinery inquiries, specify the actual grade, furnish, grammage and finished-roll requirements.

Can kraft paper be recycled?

Why the finished product matters

Many kraft-paper products can enter suitable paper-recycling systems, but coatings, laminates, contamination and local collection rules affect acceptance. Recyclability of a finished package also doesn’t prove that a particular paper machine can process every recovered furnish.

Which listed manufacturers serve kraft mill projects in the USA?

Headquarters, project references and service scope

Valmet’s published Bear Island conversion reference provides a concrete US project example. Other manufacturers in this list may propose export projects, but their headquarters alone don’t establish US installation or service coverage. For a US mill, identify the contracting company and the team responsible for erection, controls integration and start-up. Ask where spare parts will come from and which work is assigned to local contractors. Electrical interfaces and site utilities belong in that discussion. A US sales contact is useful, but it isn’t the same as a local manufacturing plant or a guaranteed response time for field service.

Does buying a kraft paper machine include a kraft pulping plant?

The upstream scope boundary

Only when that upstream plant is explicitly included. A paper machine can receive prepared pulp without including chemical cooking and recovery systems. Stock preparation for recovered paper is another scope, and should be specified separately in the proposed mill package.

Discuss Your Kraft Mill Project

Zejiang inquiry inputs: grade, furnish, finished width, saleable daily output, basis weight, and new line or rebuild.

Start a discussion on a kraft paper mill with your machine supplier and specify the desired paper grade, furnish, finished width and saleable daily output. Discuss the basis weight range and let them know if this is for a new line or a rebuilt line.

These details will help the machine manufacturer give a meaningful configuration instead of providing a long range of products.

Key takeaway

A useful kraft-machine shortlist matches the paper grade to the builder’s actual supply scope. Compare the complete production requirement before comparing headline speed, width or price.

For configured kraft, testliner or fluting projects, review Zejiang’s kraft and corrugated paper machine options and share your production requirements with our team. We can discuss the machine sections, stock preparation and replacement-part support relevant to that project.
